Thibault GUILLEMIN

Thibault Guillemin is a preferred contact of companies, institutions and their representatives facing complex issues, reputational risks or governance crisis. He advises as well as litigates on situations entailing simultaneous regulatory, ethical, criminal and social aspects.

He leads our "Probity" practise.  Among others, he advises legal, compliance and HR departments in setting up, evaluating and strengthening their compliance programs (codes of conduct, internal audit, risk analysis, KYC, professional alerts, training), both with regard to French legislation (Sapin II, Devoir de vigilance) and foreign ones (FCPA, UKBA).

Beyond his counseling activities, Thibault is a next generation litigator who defends companies and their managers facing internal investigations and/or enforcements.  He represents for many years several companies and individuals in high-profile cases.

Prior joining the Paris Bar, Thibault practised as a counsel in a French law firm of supreme court attorneys (avocats au Conseil d’Etat et à la Cour de cassation) where he managed many cases involving government bodies.  He has recently advised and defended several institutions and their representatives in matters of public corruption, conflict of interests and favoritism.

His practise focuses as well on economic sanctions (embargoes, export controls) and export controls that French and European companies may face.

Thibault's team has been recently recognized as "Rising Team 2020" for his Compliance expertise by the Trophées du Droit, a panel of professionals awarding the best lawyers for their practise. His team has been also recognized as "Excellent" for its white collar practise by Leaders League 2020 and ranked by Legal500 as a "Top Tier 3" compliance law firm.

Stéphane FLICHY

Stéphane Flichy assists our French and foreign clients on their commercial, social and criminal issues.

He heads the Litigation Department of the firm, whose team is entirely dedicated to defending companies and their managers, both in their daily disputes (commercial relationship, unfair competition, employment disputes, etc.) and more exceptional procedures, whether judicial (insolvency and winding up proceedings, unions disputes, shareholders' disputes, criminal liability of companies and their representatives) or arbitration.

A recognized expert in French labour law, he manages a number of complex disputes requiring simultaneous mastery of social, criminal and corporate issues.

He is also called upon to manage crisis situations, implement amicable solutions and assess the risks linked to pre-litigation situations in the context of M&A operations.

A graduate of an LL.M from University College of London, he is particularly involved in transnational disputes and defends a number of leading English and American companies.

Alexis GUILLEMIN

As a specialist in both intellectual property law and new information technologies, Alexis Guillemin is an astute expert of all issues of the company’s intangible heritage. Thus, he assists our clients in managing and valuing their immaterial assets both in France and abroad.

Beyond his strong background in copyright as well as in patents, trademarks and designs litigations, Alexis Guillemin assists our clients with the implementation of the big data processes (GDPR), data mining and protection of personal data (French Data Protection Authority -CNIL-, French Data Protection Officer -CIL-, Privacy Shield, cybersecurity).

He also handles the implementation of complex legal schemes related to new information technologies and media law and devotes a substantial part of its activity to the drafting and negotiation of IT contracts.

Matthieu BRINGER

Matthieu Bringer assists clients principally in respect of their corporate transactions. He also advises them vis-à-vis banks when circumstances lead them to finance assets or acquisitions of companies.  Finally, as a useful adjunct expertise, he is in a position to supervise the drafting and submission of a take-over bid aimed at a bankrupt company or its assets before a commercial court.

His clients are mainly small to medium-sized corporates, often with an international shareholding.  For these clients, his French-US legal background is a real asset. Indeed, it allows him to efficiently report to, and communicate with the client, in order to bring a deal to a happy conclusion, notwithstanding cultural gaps.

He also advises high net worth families from beginning to end for their investments in companies.

Matthieu strives to offer legal advice that has also business sense or, as a minimum, common sense.  He strongly believes in short and practically-minded written advice, rather than in lengthy lessons of law that a client will never read.

His clients’ business specialties are varied and go from the building and construction industry to connectors’ manufacturing, publishing, robotics, industrial engineering and the agri-food sector.

Mathilde Delaunay is an expert on non-profit organizations. Laurent Thomas is a corporate law expert, in particular on listed and non-listed joint-stock companies. Julie SOUDAZ

Julie Soudaz works in all areas in relation to Corporate law and is turned toward supporting businesses in an international context.

She advises our clients on all day-to-day corporate needs (company incorporation, secretarial services, capital increases or decreases, etc.), restructuring (absorption, spin-offs, etc.) as well as M&A operations (shareholders’ agreements, mergers, acquisitions, private-equity matters, etc.)

Julie also developed a good knowledge of the EMEA region after working for 2 years on international projects as in-house counsel for an international group (CAC 40), and works indifferently in French or English.

She also specializes in distribution law (Terms and Conditions, franchise, commercial licenses).

Her dual expertise in both international private law and as a lawyer-linguist makes her a privileged interlocutor for our foreign clients.

Thomas Chanzy’s practice covers both litigation (commercial, financial, securities) and white collar crime, at each stage of the proceedings.

Before joining Guillemin Flichy, Thomas worked in the Compliance/Internal Investigations department of a top-ranked US law firm. He has developed a particular expertise in business ethics and compliance (anti-corruption, human rights, exports controls and economic sanctions).

He assists companies and top managers in the implementation of compliance programs, during internal investigations, as well as he defends them in court.
